An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Wisdom on Call

(Proverbs 17:24 KJV)  Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.

We already know more to do than we are doing.  The answers are “before us” (in our presence NASB) (6440), but we keep reading how-to books and looking for gurus to give us the answers.  “Wisdom” (2451) recognizes them when they bite us on the nose.

This refers to those who have achieved “understanding” (995).  This means those who have studied the word enough to know the basics of God’s expectations.  That also assumes that the information we need is right in front of us, and it is.

So?  You achieve knowledge by seeking knowledge and spending time with knowledge.  Some get it the first time.  The rest of us need time to absorb.  God will honor both types.
