(Proverbs 27:2 KJV) Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.
What does it take to get a “stranger” (5237) to “praise” (1984b) you? What does it take to get you to give praise to a stranger? There have been times when we are out and we notice how well behaved the children are in a family. The kids are not perfect but the parents are involved in correcting and guiding them. Often we will stop on the way out to give them a word of encouragement. When we get a waitress who goes out of her way we let her know we appreciate her efforts. We do it with words and a generous tip. I often tell the ladies who work in our school office how important their work is to all of us. Last week I bought some gift certificates from See’s Candy and put substance to my gratitude.
So? Be the “another” (2114a). Why not look for someone you can lift up with a little praise today.

An Idea Borrowed
Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.
