An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Finished Product

(Pro 25:4 KJV)  Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.

It seems to me that there is a step missing here, or maybe many steps.  Removing the impurities does not produce a finished product.  I think that is true in crafting artwork or saints.  The more complex the design the more steps involved.  I imagine that in some cases the vessel may go back into the fire, not because it is impure, but because it has not shaped properly.  We are on a lifelong journey and the final form of our body, soul, mind and strength will not be set until eternity.  It is possible that the crafting may continue then.

What is necessary is the purification, the removal of what you might call the evil components.

So?  Make sure you are praying with David,

(Psa 51:10 KJV)  Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
This is what made him a man after God’s own heart.
