An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

An Inside Straight

(Pro 16:4 KJV)  The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

I don’t know about you but I have some serious questions about how our society is progressing or regressing.  I guess it depends on your view of things.  I see a continuing loss of liberty and options.  I see a blatant disregard for facts and a definition of normal and moral that is like spitting in the face of God.  It is so easy to get worried and depressed.  In the midst of that we have verses like this reminding us that God is in charge.

God has a purpose for everything we see and hear about.  It doesn’t matter if we understand it or not.  It is still true.

So?  We need to trust in Providence.  If you are playing poker it is foolish to trust in drawing the card to fill the middle of a straight.  For God it would be no problem.  He doesn’t gamble, He decrees and I assume we are on His team.
