An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Timeless

(Pro 8:23 KJV)  I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

Part of the character of Wisdom is that it seems to be tied to the character of God.  The basic principles were laid down before creation.  The application may seem to vary but in reality the underlying truth endures.

This is one of the reasons that the Bible never really goes out of style.  It may get hard to read when the language gets archaic or totally changes.  As much as some people love the KJV it would still be useless for someone who was illiterate and did not speak English.  That would not change the truth it contained.  It would just make it hard to decipher.  The same barrier would exist to someone who had the skills but refused to engage the text.

So?  Eternal truths wait to be discovered and applied.  Today.
