An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

The Name Not-a-Game

(Pro 22:1 KJV)  A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.

I used to joke with people that I was such a goody-two-shoes that parents could trust me with their daughters, and they were right.  I would act disappointed but it was an act.  It has always been important to me to be a person of honor.  I was never a boy scout but the oath they used to say before they went woke was something I wanted in my eulogy.

People of God should have the reputation of paying debts, honesty or, you might say, integrity.  It is easy to lose and takes a long time to earn.

So.  God also wants us to be viewed that way.  It is true that the evil people of the world look at us as a target to be destroyed but we are still to stand for righteousness.
