An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Face It

(Psa 30:7 KJV)  LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.

(Proverbs 10 also read)

I have never felt like God “hid” (5641) His “face” (6440) from me.  There have been times when I felt alienated but it was because I was not reaching out, not because God turned away.  If you look at the context of this remark you see that David is communicating with God.  My conclusion is that this is a figure of speech.

There are situations where God will not listen.  Keep in mind that He can see our hearts and knows our motives.  He will leave us to stew in our own juices when we want to play games, but I have to believe He will always listen to a repentant heart and an honest prayer.

So?  Keep reaching out.  He will meet you if that is the desire of your heart.
