An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Simple Observations

(Pro 7:7 KJV)  And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

It would seem that Solomon is having a moment of jumping to conclusions.  How could he make such a quick assessment of this young man?  It occurs to me that maybe it was not quick.  It is totally possible that he has seen this young man before.  Maybe he has even had conversations with him.  It is even possible that he is the son referred to in verse 1.

Given time we get to know people.  We learn their weaknesses and strengths.  It is not being judgmental to use discernment.  Sometimes it is wisdom at work.

So?  Always be willing to make decisions based on what you know even if the conclusion is not pleasant.
