An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Possibilities

(Psa 119:3) They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.

(Proverbs 12 also read)

I am having a lot of questions about concepts like righteousness and, as here, “unrighteousness” (5767b).  I have been told all my life that it impossible to be righteous.  I have heard Paul quoted repeatedly.  Usually it is by someone trying to say that we cannot live without sinning regularly.  It is a shame that people who should know better twist scripture that way.  Paul was not talking about the possibilities of saints walking in the power of the Spirit.  He was talking about the fact that we are all born with a sinful nature.

The Bible seems clear to me.  We were born sinners.  We can live as saints.  It is not done through our own strength but it can be done.

So?  Live upright.  Be blameless.  That is for today and tomorrow.  Yesterday was taken care of on the cross.  Rejoice.
