An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

The Deceitful Path

(Pro 11:18 KJV)  The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.

Who is fooled by the results of wicked behavior?  I would like to claim it is only the “wicked” (7563) but I am afraid that even the faithful fall into the trap.  Haven’t you ever wondered why it seems like evil people are running everything?  There seems to be a pattern in all organizations whether it be government, business or the church.  Take Walmart.  It started as a business run by a Christian and delivered a valuable service.  Then the founder died, the children took the money and ran to the dark side.  Look at the Methodist church, based on the teaching of John Wesley.  It is now ordaining homosexuals.

How do we keep off of that track for ourselves and our families?  We all know believers who have had their children seduced by evil.  I don’t have an easy answer but it is not compromise.  We need to be constantly seeking personal revival and living what we believe.

So?  Walk in righteousness and trust that God is in control.  At the same time we must make allowance for free will.  Each person must make their own decisions.  That goes for us on a daily basis.
