An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

A Heart of Folly

(Proverbs 24:9 KJV)  The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.

If you think about it you can see the common root word in “folly NASB” (200) and “foolishness KJV”.  The common idea is being a fool.  As I looked through different commentaries I thought what Adam Clarke had to say was interesting.
“Fool is here taken for a wicked man, who is not only evil in his actions, but every thought of his heart is evil, and that continually. A simple thought about foolishness, or about sin itself, is not sinful; it is the purpose or device, the harbouring evil thoughts, and devising how to sin, that is criminal”
Adam Clarke was a contemporary of our Founding Fathers.

So?  Where your heart is, thus goes your planning.  Make sure your heart is right.
