An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Self-Serve

(Proverbs 25:10 KJV)  Lest he that heareth it put thee to shame, and thine infamy turn not away.

It may be a bit self-serving but there is a bit of advice here that is good to follow.  When you gossip, when you try to drag someone down, when your mouth runs before your brain, someone will hear and report.
(Numbers 32:23 KJV)  But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out.
This is a case where the right thing to do is also the safest thing to do.  Ideally we would have the right motive.  It matters, but the principle still applies, even if you reject the living God.

So?  Don’t pull a fast one, thinking you will get away with it.  Your sins, even if you don’t believe in sin, will find you out.
