An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Follow Through

(Proverbs 10:29 KJV)  The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

There is a certain “way” (1870) that the righteous are to live.  This is one of those words that is very common in the OT, used over 700 times.  Its Greek equivalent is found in a very well known verse,
(John 14:6 KJV)  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
It can be used figuratively or literally.

There is a path of behavior, priorities and decisions that are required of followers of Jesus.  Think of it as being the interstate through a large town.  You might have off-ramps, merging and lane changes but if you keep following the shield with the right number you will get through and come out on the other side.

So?  Do you know from first hand reading and listening what the way of God involves?  Sermons are good.  Advice is fine.  The complete manual is at your fingertips.  The way is marked out for you.
