An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Self-Induced Punishment

(Proverbs 19:29 KJV)  Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.

Jesus talked about “judgments” (8201) and said that those who do not believe are judged already.
(John 3:18 KJV)  He that believeth on him is not condemned (judged NASB): but he that believeth not is condemned (judged NASB) already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
One of the traits of the unbelievers is that they are “scorners” (scoffers NASB) (3917b).  You have met people like this.  They know they are wrong.  They know they broke the dish.  They know they caused the problem.  They will not admit it.  The look in their eye defies you to prove your case.

For those who will confess and repent, God has forgiveness, restoration, healing, rest.  He has whatever is needed.  For the rest He has punishment.

So?  How God responds to you depends on how you respond to Him.  Make your choices.
