An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

He Has Your Back

Psalm 63:7 (KJV) Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

Another place talks about sheltering under God’s wings.  This is a bit of a different picture, at least for me today.

When I read this I asked myself when we would be under this shadow and came up with the idea of a young bird out learning the ropes and having the adult flying above.  The purpose would be to shelter me from an attack in that direction.  As a novice I might forget to check that direction.  I would be a sitting duck.  The parent protects the young from the foolishness of immaturity.

In the same way we can count on God to be taking care of the things that would not even occur to us.  What would those things be?  If I knew I might not need the shelter.

So?  Develop awareness but while you are working on it trust that the Lord is hovering in the areas that you are not even sensing.
