An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Stand Quietly

Proverbs 25:6 (KJV) Put not forth thyself in the presence of the king, and stand not in the place of great men:

I will never be near a king and I don’t tend to rub elbows with the great. I am surrounded by normal people. The world being what it is that means that at least half of them are below average. What this is saying to me today is that I need to spend a lot of energy keeping my mouth shut.

The closest I will come to great people would be some of the saints in the church. In reality, they don’t need to hear my opinions about a lot of things. If we’re discussing the scripture, I can put in my two cents worth, but I need to realize that it’s only worth two cents and the penny doesn’t go as far as it used to.

So? Feel free to think, research, study, all those things, but be aware that you don’t really need to share everything you know, at least I don’t.
