An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Long Term Effects

Proverbs 17:6 (KJV) Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.

This again reminds me of my father.  I was truly blessed in my choice of parents.  I wish I could take credit for it.  I am not sure I would have had the wisdom to see past the outer crust.

My father was a blue collar worker at best.  He was not a smooth talker and at the end of the day really needed a shower.  The glory was buried underneath all that.

The results are more impressive.  Not only did he raise four boys to be responsible adults who loved the Lord but that heritage has been passed down to the next generation.  All my nieces and nephews fit into those categories.  I am trusting that the next generation will also follow.

So?  I hope you can also rejoice in the heritage, or as here glory, that came to you.  If not, you can at least be the one to start a new path for your children.
