An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Act Like It

Proverbs 20:6 (KJV) Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?

Talk is cheap. It is also abundant. We tend to be locked into our own worlds and have a hard time accepting that we are bloviating. Accept it and try to rein it in.

And apply the other end of the spectrum. Act like you are the person your talk describes. This is important. Many people are locked into a theology that claims your beliefs are what matters. They do, but the Bible is also full of admonitions to act according to your speech.

So? The world is watching. Are you an example of holiness or a demonstration of an empty balloon?
