An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Righteous Skies

(Psa 97:6 KJV)  The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.

(Proverbs 19 also read)

I do a lot of rejoicing when I take the time to sit and contemplate the world around me.  On a clear day, when the temperature is right, with a breeze keeping things interesting, it is very hard not to lift up my eyes and see the glory of God.  It can also happen on a dark night when the stars are coasting across the sky.  I can have this sense in the midst of a lightening storm and even in a hard steady rain.

I don’t know that I have ever thought of the sky revealing God’s “righteousness” (6664), but it makes sense.  I will try to remember that next time I walk.  It seems to be there for all the world to see.

So?  We are surrounded by God’s “glory” (3519b).  I need to take more time to contemplate it and think about all that it reveals.
