An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

 Some Things Can’t Be Shared

(Pro 14:10 KJV)  The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.

I read the second part of this verse as a grandfather who has just been traveling and enjoying other people’s grandchildren.  At my destination I was able to get to know the grandchildren of friends.  I found that they have the same tickle spots as mine.  They have just as many toes and they are hugable.

I have seen stranger’s grandchildren in the airport.  They bring a big smile to my face.  I can even enjoy the parents’ frustration in dealing with them.

But they are not mine.  I can understand the love that others feel because I have my own.  I can have strong feelings and a bit of joy but much of that is anchored in the joy that mine bring to me.

So?  Enjoy the joy of others but realize that God has His own joys for you.  Be aware and thankful.
