An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

 Results May Vary

(Act 14:2 KJV)  But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.

(Proverbs 26 also read)

Have you ever been frustrated because you were not effective as a witness, evangelist or teacher?  You are in good company.  Paul was the acknowledged apostle to the Gentiles.  He had a lot of success but you need to realize he also had a lot of failure.  One often follows the other.  Here we have a case where his success planted the seeds for violent opposition.

Be aware that everyone does not want to hear the truth.  Think about the prophets.  Few listened to them.  Think about Jesus.  People came to be healed and fed but often did not want to hear what He had to say.

So?  Our goal is to be faithful.  The results are in the hands of God and the hearts of those He is trying to reach.
