An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

 Who Supplies the Lemons?

(Pro 4:11 KJV)  I have taught thee in the way of wisdom; I have led thee in right paths.

I started reading today in this verse.  Two things hit me.  One was a question and the other was a realization.

The question was, “Who is giving me this advice?”  I was thinking it was a personification of Wisdom which would be good but as I finished reading the chapter I realized that this was Solomon’s Father, David.  There is not mystery of spiritualization here.  This is not mystical.  This is dad talking to you.

I realized that we all have a responsibility to pass on what we have learned.  Accept that people may not listen.  Be aware that your timing and attitude need work.  Admit that you still have the duty to share truth.

So?  Look around you.  There are people you influence.  It may only be the clerk behind the Covid shield but remember that you have the Holy Spirit on your side.  He doesn’t even need lemons to make lemonade.
