An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Payoffs

(Pro 11:31 KJV)  Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.

I don’t spend a lot of time thinking about being “recompensed” (rewarded NASB) (7999a) at the end of life or even tomorrow.  I would venture to guess that the average person who rejects Jesus would be in the same situation.  Maybe he should be thinking about such things.  It does not do much good to come to Jesus to gain eternal life if you are not also willing to repent of your sins and seek first His kingdom and His righteousness.  I would imagine it would also not do much good just wanting to avoid Hell.

I will accept that some people are scared into salvation by the images of hell.  I would also guess that most of those so scared are unscared pretty quickly and write off their profession of faith as a moment of weakness.  Sad but true.

So?  There will be rewards.  That is a promise.  Some will be in this life.  Some will be in eternity but they will be.
