(Pro 31:30 KJV) Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
It is always a risk to assume things about people. The “beauty” (3308) part is often obvious because we can see what a person looks like. Even there we need to keep in mind the ability of modern technology to transform. I remember a teacher I worked with. If she was in a hurry getting to work she was average at best. When she dolled herself up and was on the prowl, Wow! She became a heart stopper. Unfortunately her personality was even worse than average. Beauty did not make up for that if you spent more than a few minutes with her.
I think that most celebrities could go out in public without fear of being recognized if they would simply skip the make-up. So much of our lives is make believe.
So? Of course we should be genuine. We also want to be neat and clean. I think the big thing here is that we need to be slow to form opinions about people on short acquaintance.

An Idea Borrowed
Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.
