An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Two Times Was A Charm

(Pro 10:13 KJV)  In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.

I like to think that I can learn my lessons but I am afraid that physical reminds are necessary.  I was reminded of this last week when I was mowing what I call the back yard.  I did not have any problem until toward the end when I was mowing under a tree.  I ran into a low hanging branch.  I have done it before.  You would think I could learn.  No.  The next time I went around the tree I ran into the branch again.  My biggest frustration was caused by honesty.  There was no way I could blame the tree.

I am glad to report that I did not hit my head a third time.  I would like to think I have learned my lesson but we will need to wait until the next mow.

So?  Learn you lessons.  It is best if you learn to duck but if not there will always be something in life to remind you.  The big issue is when these times are moral failure rather than a tree limb.
