An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Living the Memory

(Pro 19:5 KJV)  A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.

As followers of Jesus we are called to be different.  The difference is increasing in our modern age, or so it appears.  Maybe it has always been severe.  Maybe we just look at the past with Leave It to Beaver memories.  The basic demand is still the same.

Here the demand is to tell the truth.  Keep in mind that this is one of the original Ten.  Ask yourself why God chose this to be on the primary list for moral behavior.  At the other end you have Jesus declaring that He is truth.  That is to be our standard.

So?  Accept it.  Watch your mouth and your body language.  It has eternal consequences.
