An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

The Nasty Taste of Truth

(Pro 5:14 KJV)  I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.

Have you ever tried to get a toddler to drink something that is good for them?  On occasion they will put it down the hatch with no problem but the title “toddler” and the adjective “cooperative” do not often go together.  It could be the most beneficial elixir in history.  It would not matter.  They are going to resist until they are so bad they crumble and drink.

That is the picture here.  You have someone who has been around the kind of information that would transform his life.  He has refused to listen.  Maybe this time.  That is why pastors tend to preach the old salvation message so often.  You never know when the Holy Spirit has softened someone up to the point of repentance.

So?  You may not need the sermon of the week.  Pray for those around you and while you are at it make sure you are not ignoring something.
