An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Just Sayin’ or Not

(Pro 27:2 KJV)  Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.

Some of my best moments came when people would say things about me that I knew I did not deserve.  What made it even better was when they did not realize I considered it a compliment.  I think of the time in class when a kid said, “Why are you always talking about Jesus?”  I would have worn that badge gladly but I rarely said the name of Jesus.  He just picked it up from the other things I said.  There is no way I could have generated that on purpose.

So?  Live the way that reflects the values of Jesus.  Be a credit to your savior.  You are not doing it to bring credit to yourself but to Him.
