An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Certainly Uncertain

(Pro 20:15 KJV)  There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.

We live in uncertain times.  Realistically, most people would say that no matter when they lived.  We do not have the Blitzkrieg raging across Europe.  In spite of our panic we do not have anything even close to the Black Death spreading through out cities.  We do have a government printing all kinds of money and borrowing like there is no tomorrow.  It is getting so that no matter what plans you have made and how careful you have been, you could lose it all.

This is a reminder that there is a greater security than is found in material wealth.  There is an investment that will be more sure and have a greater pay off.  Part of that precious awareness is being rooted in an eternal God’s-eye view of today and tomorrow.  It won’t protect your IRA but it will let you sleep at night.

So?  Be a good steward of the physical assets God has put in your care.  Be an even better steward of the mind God gave you and the soul He wants to save.
