An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Distractions

(Pro 2:17 KJV)  Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.

Context.  Context.  Context.  This verse is part of a long list of people that wisdom is designed to protect you from.  I have a friend who seems determined to make a glorious entrance to Hell.  He denies it but his behavior is obviously headed that way.  If his friendship were vital to me, I might be tempted to follow in his footsteps.  How many people have been dragged down by friends and family.

So?  Wisdom will fortify and direct us on the path that leads to eternal life.  There are lots of distractions.  Think of all the interesting places you could stop on the way to work or church.  It is necessary to keep the goal in mind.  Blessings.
