An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

What Is Modified

Psalm 47:9 (KJV) The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.

(Proverbs 27 also read)

My first reading put Israel into the driver’s seat but on reading it again I promoted God Himself.  Notice it is not the people of Abraham but the people of his God.

To a Jew in the days this was written this would be assumed to be the DNA descendants of Abraham.  Paul gives us more insight for today.

Galatians 3:29 (KJV) And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
So?  I think there is ample evidence when you put the whole Bible to the test to say that many of the promises that seem to be given originally to Israel have been inherited by the body of Christ.
