An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Tongue Watch

Proverbs 25:9 (NASB95) Argue your case with your neighbor, And do not reveal the secret of another,

We are currently entertaining family members and having a great time talking about memories.  My brother died about a year ago and we have a lot of great things to share.

While we’re doing that sharing, I noticed that there are times when things come up.  It probably should not have been shared.  We’re not talking about the arguing part of this first, but we are talking about the caution that we need to have and what we say, and what we reveal.

Enthusiasm of the moment often gets us carried away.  We need to guard our tongues when we are feeling comfortable.

So?  Enjoy family.  Enjoy friends.  Be careful that you don’t cross the line.
