An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

It’s Everywhere

Proverbs 3:8 (KJV) It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.

This verse catches my attention every month when I read it. Some of the expressions of the KJV have the rich flavor of the archaic and in the spice of the age makes us think.

Also this week I had a final consult with my podiatrist. In the conversation he told me that all bones have “marrow”. I was under the impression that was true of the long bones but he said there is some in all bones. Here we have a promise that living a life of obedience will contribute to the health of our bones.

So? A good question. It makes no sense to me in the world of medicine but it does seem like a promise that makes sense in a world that is controlled by by Almighty God.
