An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Embrace the Mystery

Psalm 139:6 (KJV) Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

Have you ever scratched your head because you could not understand something you had just read in the Bible?  You are in good company.  Here, in this verse, David is confessing the same limitation.

That does not mean that we don’t try to understand.  That is the glory of meditating on God’s word.  It is the reward of contemplation.  You never know when God will decide to let you in on a little insight.  Of course, that does not diminish what is left because His wisdom is infinite.

So?  One of the reasons He is God is because He is so far beyond us, but if you go back and read the whole chapter, He still meets with us as He met with David.  What a reason to look forward to the lessons of the day.
