An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

It Matters

(Pro 25:26 KJV)  A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring.

What is the cost of compromise?  It is an important question for us today.  The cultural Marxism is pressing in from all sides.  If you send your children to college they come back brainwashed and rejecting all you believe in.  We live in a culture that is intent on shaming us into silence and conformity.

It is easy to tell others how to face this.  It is much harder to stand tall ourselves.  I have a tendency to say, “Now is not that time.”  Later I admit to myself it was.  Keep in mind that people are watching you.  I would tell you that there are many who believe as you do but are afraid to speak out but that won’t help.  Each of us needs to develop the backbone to stand tall even if we are the only dandelion in the lawn.

So?  Live like your response to cultural pressure matters because it does.  You may miss a few bargains and not be invited to all the parties but you will have a greater chance of hearing, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.”
