(Pro 27:4 KJV) Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?
I had an attack of “jealousy” (7068) recently. Actually it was at Christmas time. I received two photographs of family members surrounded by their children and grandchildren. As I was enjoying the pictures I realized that this was one area where I was jealous. One of my brothers had six kids and now he has an army of grandchildren. The other had four and three are being very productive. It was a glorious sight.
And I was jealous.
So? There are exceptions to almost every rule. In this case jealousy is really rejoicing with their blessings. I think what this verse is telling us is that we should rejoice with other people’s blessings and not bear ill will.

An Idea Borrowed
Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.
