An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Passive Wisdom

(Pro 8:2 KJV)  She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.

Sometimes wisdom is passive.  It is just there.  We don’t need to dig or research.  It is handed to us on a plate.

Yet we still have an awesome ability to ignore it.

It is kind of like the question about the salvation of people living in, say, a jungle who have never heard the gospel.  Is it fair that they not have a chance at salvation?  I am sure that God has an answer to that.  In my totally unbiblical speculations I have surmised that God knows us so well that he places people in that situation whom He knew from conception and knew they would never respond to the good news.  We can’t have that level of perception but God can.  As I said, this is speculation not doctrine.

I don’t think we have that excuse, either in salvation or in wisdom.  Or problem is more that we ignore what we don’t want to limit our options.

So?  If you are serious then open your eyes and ears.  God has already placed the knowledge and influence that you need to access wisdom.  Count on it.
