An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Catalysts of Worship

(Pro 6:22 KJV)  When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.

I have placed pictures around the room.  I have not bothered to count them or to tally who appears the most often.  The major focus is my grandchildren.  Their parents sneak in at times but the ones that bring a smile to my face are the little ones.  I never had to do that with my children when they were young because they were always there.  As I have shared before, I would often look in their bedrooms as I was getting up to go to work.  It reminded me why I was getting up.

Grandchildren are not always with us physically but I can make them a daily experience by putting reminders everywhere.  That is kind of what is being talked about in this verse.  We need to position reminders everywhere of whom we serve and how we are to live.  It doesn’t hurt and it could very well help.

So?  I think the reminders will be different for everyone.  One persons mental shout may be someone else’s sedative.  Look for catalysts of worship.  Find places for them that cannot be avoided.  Worship when you see them.
