An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Simple Warnings

(Pro 30:32 KJV)  If thou hast done foolishly in lifting up thyself, or if thou hast thought evil, lay thine hand upon thy mouth.

This is a warning.  In this case there are two points of focus.  One side is the arrogance that comes from lifting ourselves.  The other is planning to put others down.  There is a middle ground and we are to be on it.  It is the way of righteousness.  It is the way of obedience.  It is the way of love.  If you have not read I Corinthians 13 recently it would be a good activity for your day.  It warns against boasting and arrogance.  It tells us not to rejoice in unrighteousness.

So?  Some things seem so obvious and simple and yet they are continually brought up in scripture.  I leave it to you to figure out why.
