An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Listed

(Pro 6:17 KJV)  A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

When I see a list like the one beginning here I wonder if there is a purpose behind the order or if it is just “random”.  Two verses make “random” questionable.

(Pro 16:33 KJV)  The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD.
(Col 1:17 KJV)  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
So there is purpose even in the order of this list.  I won’t speculate on that today.  I just want to remind myself that God has reasons for everything He does.  We may not understand now.  We may never understand, but we can rest assured that He does.

So?  Go back to the old gospel song, “Trust and Obey.”  A good place to start and finish.
