An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

For Example

(Pro 2:19 KJV)  None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.

This verse should remind us that “it isn’t all about you.”  Often when we read a verse and are ready to apply it to other people’s lives we tend to ignore the application to ourselves.  How often have you had someone share something they read and you know they are trying to get you to be enlightened?  This is a verse that applies to others because it applies to us.

It is important how we live.  It is important to our spiritual destiny.  What this is pointing out is that it is also important to the destiny of others.  They watch us.  They are influenced by us.  It doesn’t even matter if they know you.  Take a simple example of ducking under a rope barrier or going in an exit.  One person does it and others follow.  Or consider the way in which one person ignoring the speed limit encourages others.

So?  Live righteously.  The eternity you influence may not be your own.
