An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Live Wisdom

(Pro 1:3 KJV)  To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

As I was reading this morning the phrase “wise behavior” (7919a) caught my attention.  In the KJV it is simply “wisdom” which seems a bit too simple.  The actual meaning of the Hebrew is “prudent” but in both translations it has a multitude of different ways it is expressed.  In glancing through the translations on my software I thought it interesting the variety of ways it was given here.  The idea of “wise dealing” came up.

What hit me was the practical nature of wisdom.  It is to be lived.  It is not just a series of axioms to memorize and quote.  It is a behavior.  It is to be demonstrated in every day activities.

So?  As we go through the book again, listen and apply.  Live wisdom.
