An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Available

(Pro 8:1 KJV)  Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?

I hope you experience the reality of this verse.  It goes along with the salvation offered to us.  Just as the Bible is clear that God seeks us when we are resisting and avoiding, so His wisdom is also on its way to us.  It is available.  It is abundant.  It is ignored.

We are surrounded by sources of wisdom.  Often it comes from people who don’t know the source.  Part of what we need to do is cut through the chaff and get to the wheat.  That is done by reading, listening, thinking and praying.  Make sure that you read the right stuff.  It might be more important to read the Bible than one of the Chicken Soup for the Soul books.  It might also be helpful to listen to people who actually know the Lord and demonstrate it in their lives.

So?  This can be a great day.  All we need to do is pay attention and apply what we gain.
