An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Got Pain?

(Pro 20:30 KJV)  The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly.

One of the sad truths of life is that we often only learn through pain.  When we were on vacation I fell hard.  The reason was not physical.  It was not paying attention.  I was assuming that the builders of the strip mall had used a bit of common sense.  Who would have imagined that in basically flat land they would put a step half way down the walk and not even put a yellow strip to make it visible.  Of course, since I was looking up at the signs, I might not have seen the yellow stripe anyway.  Two days later I turned to wave goodby and missed another step.  Isn’t there a saying about twice bitten, once shy?  Or was it once bitten, twice shy.  Anyway, I am in hopes that I have learned my lesson.

So?  Got any pain?  Did it teach you anything?  If not, then you may be in for another lesson.
