An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Wait for It

(Pro 10:22 KJV) The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

I am wondering today as I look at this verse if the really important things in life, the wealth that endures, are always a result of delayed gratification.  Or at least it might be things that require time to develop.  Think of the difference between American Cheese and an aged cheese that you really enjoy.  Think of the difference between saltines and a nice French bread that was allowed to rise.  Think of the difference between your child as a productive adult and during the terrible two’s.

I am old enough to look back.  I see decisions I made that I have regretted repeatedly and yet when I look at the long term results, I am blessed.

So?  It is easy to say and hard to do.  Take the long view.
