An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Habits of Habits

(Pro 22:19 KJV) That thy trust may be in the LORD, I have made known to thee this day, even to thee.

If my hope for the future was in the visible sources of power and influence I would be in a sad state.  We need to pay attention to what is happening.  We need to think about it and develop opinions on the issues of our day.  The danger comes when we think we will find any answers there.  Our “trust” (4009) must be in the Lord.

That seems so obvious but I need to be reminded on a daily basis.  When I wake up frustrated or feeling like yesterday was a loser, I need to be reminded that my confidence and purpose is based on the God of the universe not on my success.

So?  It needs to be a daily habit.  Even being reminded of this can become a daily habit.

Easier to say than do, unfortunately.
