An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Good Words

(Proverbs 12:25 KJV)  Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.

What is a “good” (2896a) “word” (8005)?  The word good in Hebrew has all of the uses and nuances of the word in English.  The two most common translations in both the KJV and NASB are “good” and “better”.  I would imagine it would include a word of advice, a genuine compliment or even a correction.

We have the ability to make the lives of others better by what we say.

So?  I need to work on this.  I tend to be a realist with a sense of humor.  Often I am around dreamers with a very parochial understanding of funny.  I could be more sensitive to their sensitivity.
