An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Truth Is Not Comfortable

(Proverbs 12:17 KJV)  He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.

We live in a day that does not believe in “right” and “wrong”.  Everything is simply a matter of your personal preferences.  The current jargon for this thinking is multi-culturalism.  Philosophically it is called “deconstruction”.  What is being deconstructed is not an old building but the time tested meanings of words.  Truth no longer has any meaning.  That goes double for the concept of “right” (6664) or as the older KJV calls it “righteousness”.

As Christians we live in a world that does not accept our ethics and standards.  God says sin is real and we are sinners in need of a savior.  Our world says we just have not had the right opportunities and need understanding and a social worker.  If you have been heavily influenced by public education and the universities you have a hard time accepting that.

So?  Either relax in the knowledge that there is a reason you are different or get concerned because you have been brainwashed by a culture that is rejecting the God of the Bible.
