An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Diet Plans

Psalms 67:6 (KJV) Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.

(Proverbs 19 also read)

There are a lot of different diet plans out there.  At one end we have the vegans.  At the other end we have the carnivore diet.  I’m here to say that both of them are unbiblical.  By that I don’t mean to say that they are necessarily sinful, just don’t look to the Bible for vindication of your position.  So a believer can do either one as long as they don’t claim it as a spiritual position.

Being vegan may have been the original plan in the garden of Eden.  I will concede that, but as I’ve said before, after the flood Noah was told to eat meat.  It wasn’t quite that blunt, but that was the point.  The carnivore diet is refuted as beneficial for all humanity by verses like the one we’re looking at.  The increase of the Earth is plants not beef in a previous chapter.  There was reference to the harvest of barley and wheat.  Bread is recognized as a main foundation of a diet.

So?  Have fun with your dieting.  You may have one of those unique metabolisms that requires certain concessions.  I accept that, but don’t try to lay that on everyone else.  God is a little bit bigger than that.
