An Idea Borrowed

Years ago on a radio program someone shared that they read a chapter in Proverbs every day. Since there are 31 chapters and the longest month has 31 days it allows you to read through Proverbs on a regular basis. I use it as the launch pad for my personal worship time and branch out from there. On this blog I will try to share some of the insights I have in the Word. I will try to organize them in the archive by reference.

Dawning on Me

Proverbs 4:18 (KJV) But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

As I was reading this verse in the NASB this morning, I noticed an exciting “coincidence”.  The NASB talked about the dawning and how the righteous are living in the dawn light.  As I was reading it, the sun was peeking its way over the horizon off of my porch.  Orange.  Pink.  Gray.  Blue.  Radiance.

As the sun comes up the colors of the rest of the world began to take on depth and contrast.  It’s amazing how a little bit of light can change your perspective and that’s the way it is when you walk in righteousness.

So?  Every day examine your heart.  Every day open yourself up to the voice of God and the witness of the Holy Spirit.  Let it dawn upon you what God has for you.
